ReputeCast

Self-hosted newsletters that protect your inbox placement

ReputeCast is a free, open-source, self-hosted newsletter platform built around deliverability. Before you send, it checks 80+ blocklists, SPF/DKIM/DMARC/BIMI, spam triggers, Gmail clipping, broken links and list quality, then gives Pass, Warn or Block with a fix. While sending, it watches bounces and complaints and pauses risky routes. Send via your own SES, Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, Resend, Postal or SMTP, with failover.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Nhan from HostRepute.

Most deliverability problems can be caught before you hit send: a missing DMARC record, a listed IP, a stale segment, an email Gmail will clip. Yet most newsletter tools only tell you after the damage is done. At HostRepute we already monitor domains and IPs across blocklists, Google Postmaster and Microsoft SNDS, so we built a newsletter platform where that check is part of every send.

What ReputeCast does:

  • Send Readiness: before every campaign it checks 80+ blocklists, SPF/DKIM/DMARC/BIMI, spam triggers, Gmail clipping, broken links, one-click unsubscribe and list quality. Each check is Pass, Warn or Block, with a fix.

  • Guarded sending: live delivery, bounce and complaint rates per mailbox provider and per route. Cross a threshold and the campaign or route pauses on its own.

  • Your own providers: SES, Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, Resend, SparkPost, Postal or any SMTP, with weighted splits, failover and a shared suppression list.

  • The rest: visual automations, an MJML drag-and-drop composer, segments, forms, analytics that separate real opens from Apple Mail prefetches, plus an API and an MCP server.

It's open source (AGPL-3.0) and every feature is free. No paid tier, no seat limits. You pay only for your server and your sending provider (about $20 for 200k emails/month on SES). It runs with Docker Compose, and you can import from Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite, listmonk or Keila without losing your unsubscribes.

I'd love your feedback, especially:

  1. Which pre-send check would have saved you from a bad send?

  2. Which provider or integration should we support next?

Who hunted ReputeCast?

ReputeCast was hunted by HostRepute. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
