Rep Trace
Log gym sets in one sentence — for iPhone & Watch
Most gym apps bury logging under huge exercise menus. Rep Trace is built for the rest between sets: type a workout in plain language and turn it into today’s checklist. Pair with Apple Watch for the session and rest timers. Keep weight history so you don’t forget last week’s load on a machine. Review weeks and months of training to see if you’re progressing — and get clearer cues when you’re stuck deciding cut vs bulk. Built for lifters who want less tapping, more training.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
About a year ago I started running to lose weight. There were tons of apps for cardio — including Apple Health — and watching my Cardio Fitness climb was genuinely addictive.
After ~3 months of cardio I started lifting, at first just to keep muscle while cutting. Then I got hooked on the gym.
That’s when the friction showed up. Most gym apps feel like a filing cabinet: dig through hundreds of exercises just to log a set. Between rests I don’t want menus — I want to type something like “bench 4×8, fly 3×12” and move on. So Rep Trace uses natural language for logging.
It also works with Apple Watch so I can follow the session and time rest between sets. After months in the gym I still forget what weight I used on a machine last time — so history isn’t optional, it’s the product.
I also built light review into the app: after a week or a month of logging, am I actually progressing? Should I lean cut or lean bulk? These were my own questions while training, and I wanted answers that live next to the log — not another spreadsheet.
Would love brutal feedback from anyone who lifts with iPhone / Apple Watch. What’s the most annoying part of your current logging app?
