Hey Product Hunt! I started this project a few weeks ago for a simple reason: I wanted to peel back the layers of modern game engines and see exactly how they work under the hood. What started as a small experiment with Rust and pixels quickly grew into a functioning 2D engine with its own egui editor, custom physics, and a JSON scene saver. The biggest surprise for me was how lightweight it stayed. In a world where empty project builds can take up hundreds of megabytes, this entire thing sits at a 5 MB build size and sips around 45–50 MB of RAM while running. What’s next on my radar (open to your feedback here!): Implementing a proper batch renderer for thousands of sprites. Adding hot-reloading for assets and scripts so you don't have to restart the editor. This is purely a learning, open-source project, I'm not trying to dethrone Godot or Bevy. I just genuinely enjoy watching a living system come together from small, clean pieces of code. The project is completely open. I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or what features you’d love to see in a hyper-lightweight engine like this. Check out the code, and if you like what you see, happy to get your stars on GitHub!
