I’m excited to finally show you RegexPilot today.
The idea came from a frustration I kept running into myself. As a developer, I was constantly switching between documentation, Stack Overflow, AI tools, code editors, and reference material just to complete write regular expressions that were hard to decode in my head. The workflow felt fragmented and inefficient and needlessly complicated. You don't use regular expressions daily so you tend to forget the syntax. Ai alone doesn't help because you still need to verify it and can't blindly rely on it and it always generates some different solutions often not capturing all the subtleties.
I started building RegexPilot to bring those tools and workflows together in a way that feels fast, focused, and actually useful during day-to-day development.
Like many side projects, it evolved quite a bit from the original idea. What started as a simple utility gradually grew into a more complete toolkit as I listened to feedback and discovered new pain points along the way.
Building it also taught me a lot about product design, developer experience, and the challenge of creating software that saves time instead of adding complexity.
