RefCheck
Catch AI-hallucinated citations before your reviewers do
Paste your references and RefCheck cross-checks each one across 10 scholarly databases, including Crossref, OpenAlex, PubMed and arXiv. It flags fake and retracted papers, fixes wrong details, and links free full text. 5 free checks a day.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm the maker of RefCheck, from AILatest Studio.
AI writing tools are fast, but they also invent references that look completely real. Students, researchers and editors are now spending hours checking citations by hand, or worse, not checking at all.
RefCheck does the checking for you: paste a list in any common style and each reference is verified against public scholarly databases. You'll see what's real, what has errors, what's likely fake, and what's been retracted, plus the correct citation and a free full-text link.
Try it free, no sign-up for 5 references a day. New accounts get 100 credits.
I'd love your feedback: what citation styles or databases should we add next?
