Recipe websites are broken. You search for pasta carbonara and get a 2,000-word essay before you see a single ingredient. Reduced Recipes fixes that. We crawl the web, extract just the recipe - ingredients, method, timings - and throw everything else away. 170,000+ recipes from across the world, stripped clean. No ads, no stories, no account required. Just the recipe. Finally. reduced.recipes

Hey Product Hunt. Happy to share a bit more about how this came together. The frustration has been building for years. I cook a lot, and every time I reached for my phone mid-prep to check an ingredient quantity or remind myself of the next step, I'd find myself scrolling past ads, pop-ups, and someone's personal essay just to find a single line of text. At some point I stopped using recipe websites altogether and started buying cookbooks instead. I have hundreds of them now. That should have been the warning sign. The actual build started with a simple question: recipe ingredients are facts. Facts are not copyrightable. So what is actually stopping someone from just extracting the useful part and discarding the rest? Nothing, as it turned out. I built a distributed crawler on Cloudflare Workers that pulls structured recipe data from across the web, strips everything except the title, ingredients, and method, and stores it cleanly. The whole architecture runs at a fraction of what a conventional setup would cost. A couple of days of focused building later, it was working. What surprised me most was the scale of the problem. The recipe content that exists on the internet is enormous and genuinely valuable. It is just buried under an incentive structure that optimises for ad revenue over usefulness. Reduced Recipes is the same content, respecting the original authors with full attribution and links back, presented the way it should have been all along. We are at 170,000 recipes and growing every day. Would love to hear what you think and what you would want to see next.
