Redock
MacOs Utility App
You dock your laptop and every window piles onto one screen. Redock saves the position of every window across every display, then puts them all back, on a hotkey or automatically when you reconnect. Plus snapping by hotkey or screen edge, app rules, drag zones, clipboard history and a file shelf, all from the menu bar. Snapping is free. £19 once for the rest, three Macs, no subscription. 14 day trial, no card. macOS 13+.

Hi Product Hunt. I built Redock because of one small thing that kept happening. I'd plug my laptop into the display at my desk, and every window I had open would pile onto one screen. Then I'd spend a minute or two dragging everything back. Undock, same thing in reverse. A few times a day, every day. I already had a window manager. Rectangle, Magnet, Raycast and macOS's own tiling are all good at snapping a window to a half or a corner. But none of them remember where your windows were. Moom does, and it's the only one, and it feels its age. So the thing I actually wanted did not really exist. Redock saves the position of every open window across every display, and puts them back. You can trigger it with a hotkey, or leave it to run on its own when it recognises the monitor arrangement you just plugged into. The snapping side is free. Saved layouts, auto-restore, app rules and the rest are £19 once, for three Macs, with no subscription. There's a 14 day trial with no card and no account. Two honest notes. The download is not notarised yet, my Apple Developer enrolment is stuck, so macOS will show a Gatekeeper warning on first open (right click, Open). And Redock needs Accessibility access, because moving another app's windows is impossible without it. Nothing leaves your Mac. I'd like to hear where it breaks. Odd display arrangements, apps that fight back, layouts it gets wrong. Reply here and I'll read all of it.
