I’m the maker behind RedactVault, and I’m launching it today because document redaction still feels weirdly broken.
The thing that bothered me most: a lot of “redaction” is just a black box placed over sensitive text. It looks safe, but the data can still be underneath, searchable, copyable, or recoverable. That is a scary failure mode for something people use on legal files, medical records, financial docs, contracts, and internal reports.
The second problem is the privacy paradox: many tools that redact properly ask you to upload the sensitive document to their server first.
So to remove private data… you hand over the private data.
RedactVault is an AI-powered redaction tool built around a different idea: redaction should happen in your browser. No upload to our servers. No install. Your documents stay on your device while you find and remove sensitive information.
It supports PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and images. It can auto-detect PII like names, emails, and account numbers, blur faces, search-and-redact across a whole document, and export files where the redacted data is actually removed, not just covered up.
My goal is to make proper redaction feel less like an enterprise chore and more like something anyone can do safely in a few minutes.
