Recto
Open-source forms that sync to Google Sheets
Build beautiful forms, connect a Google Sheet, and publish. Every submission lands directly in your spreadsheet. Self-host with Docker or try the hosted demo for free.
Hey everyone 👋
I built Recto because I wanted something simpler than the usual form builders.
You create a form, connect a Google Sheet, publish it and that’s it.
Every response automatically becomes a new row in your spreadsheet, so you don’t need to export CSVs, move data around, or build another dashboard just to see your submissions.
Recto is also open-source and self-hostable.
What you can do with Recto
* Build forms with 15+ question types
* Sync submissions directly to Google Sheets
* Customize colors, fonts, layouts, and themes
* Add file uploads and signatures
* Build NPS, rating, ranking, and matrix questions
* Edit forms from your phone
* Self-host everything with Docker
* Use Google OAuth for authentication
* Keep your responses in the spreadsheet your team already uses
And unlike Google Forms, you don’t have to settle for the default Google Forms look.
There are plenty of powerful form builders out there, but many of them feel like they’re trying to become an entire business platform.
I wanted something much simpler.
That’s Recto.
It’s MIT licensed, open-source, and you can run the whole thing yourself.
The hosted version isn’t live yet, but you can try the demo today or self-host it with Docker.
If you build with Recto, I’d love to hear what you think.

Recto was hunted by Akila Dananjaya. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
