Recessed Light Calculator
Plan recessed lights before you talk to an installer
Plan recessed lighting for a rectangular room. Adjust room size, fixture output and target light level, preview spacing and wall offsets, then export PNG or CSV. Free, browser-based and no account needed.
Hi Product Hunt! Recessed Light Calculator helps turn a first lighting estimate into a layout you can inspect and discuss.
You can change the room dimensions, fixture specifications and target light level, switch between feet/meters and lux/foot-candles, and export a PNG or CSV plan. The calculator keeps the estimate separate from the placement of each light, so you can see both the count and the grid it produces.
The method and worked model examples are available here: https://canlightcalculator.com/a...
It is a planning tool, not an installation design or a photometric simulation. We'd welcome feedback on which inputs or result explanations need to be clearer for a first-time user.
Try it without creating an account: https://canlightcalculator.com/
