The honest story of how this happened.
In 2023, I was a CS student who wanted more followers on X, so I built a scrappy tool that replied to popular accounts fast. The feedback was brutal. People called it a spam tool, and honestly, they were right about what it felt like.
One night it clicked. Instead of replying to random popular posts, why not find the posts that are actually relevant to what you're building? Help someone meet the people who genuinely need what they're making. That reframing changed everything, and it turned into v2. Then v2 wasn't accurate enough. I made a prototype, a few people actually paid for it, and I refunded every one of them because I knew it wasn't good enough yet. v3 took over a year and missed the AI agent shift entirely. So I rebuilt it all as v4, the version launching today.
Three years, four versions, and one lesson that kept repeating. The problem underneath every outreach tool is never the message; it's the network. Sales tools hand you a funnel and expect you to grind it. ReacherX works differently. You tell it who you need; it works X and LinkedIn around the clock to find those people, and helps you start real conversations. If you can use social media, you already know how to use it.
I also open-sourced everything on GitHub. Building alone for 3 years gets lonely, and I'd love contributors, feedback, and roasts. All welcome.
