Re:Stance

Leave a judgment today, and it will be waiting for you.

Most explainers hand you a conclusion. Re:Stance hands you the argument, then asks where you stand — one line, your own words. Commit, and it shows the single strongest counter aimed at your side. Not a list. One. Keep your position or change it; either way it’s recorded. Later the issue returns, and so does the sentence you wrote. Nothing is scored. Both sides can be right — what’s measured is only whether you answered. 14 languages. Judging is free, forever. Not available in the EU/UK.

I kept noticing the same thing: I’d read a good explainer about something contested, nod, and close the tab. A week later I couldn’t tell you what I actually thought. I had consumed a position, not formed one. So Re:Stance makes you stop and write one line — where you stand and why — before it shows you anything else. Then it gives you the strongest argument against your side, specifically. Just one. Six rounds of back-and-forth don’t change minds; the research is pretty clear on that, and chat interfaces that never end are the opposite of what I wanted. The hardest decision was refusing to score anyone. No type labels, no “you lean 73% utilitarian,” no report card. Both answers are usually defensible, and the moment you grade someone they start performing for the grade. The only thing the product measures is whether you left an answer. It’s a one-person company. I write the units, and I’d rather be told I’m wrong about one than have no one read it. The error-report link on every unit is not decoration. Starting with philosophy. 14 languages. Not available in the EU/UK.

Who hunted Re:Stance?

Re:Stance was hunted by Henry Kim. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
