RANKOFF
Pay RM5, hold #1. A public leaderboard for businesses
A pay-to-rank leaderboard built for a real local SME market, not the global tech crowd. RM5 (~$1) gets you on; the highest cumulative total holds #1. Everything is public — who's ranked, what they paid, how many clicks they got. 19 per-industry boards, so a clinic competes with clinics. Bilingual EN/中文. Merchants type only a URL — name, description and logo are fetched from their own site. Every listing gets a permanent page and a "#1" card to post on WhatsApp and Instagram.
Hi PH 👋
I run an ad agency in Malaysia — 200+ brands, RM5.9M+ in ad spend. The thing I keep watching is small merchants paying for visibility they can't see, on platforms that won't show them the ranking rule.
So I built the opposite: a leaderboard where the rule is one sentence. RM5 (~$1) gets you on, the highest cumulative total holds #1, ties go to whoever paid first. Who's ranked, what they paid and how many clicks they got are all public.
It's split into 19 per-industry boards, so a massage centre competes with massage centres and not with AI startups. Merchants type only a URL — the name, description and logo are fetched from their own site. Everything is bilingual EN/中文, because that's who the merchants are.
Honest status: live 5 days, 4 listings, RM25 in lifetime revenue, and I know most of the first merchants personally. This is the "will anyone actually pay" test, not a growth story.
Two things I'd genuinely like to be argued with on:
1. Cumulative total as the ranking rule — does it just favour whoever showed up first with money?
2. 19 industry boards at this size — useful segmentation, or fragmenting a board that's already nearly empty?
Ask me anything.

Who hunted RANKOFF?
RANKOFF was hunted by Jake Ning. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
