I built this because I kept seeing founders (including myself) calculate ramen profitability completely wrong by just dividing total expenses by their monthly price and calling it a number.
That math has a dangerous hole in it. It ignores that Stripe takes its cut before you see a dollar, that your infrastructure costs scale per user and that roughly 20-30% of what's left goes to taxes — money that was never actually yours to spend.
So the safe number most founders walk around with in their head is almost always too low.
This calculator does the real accounting: it computes your true net contribution margin per customer, grosses up your personal expenses to their pre-tax equivalent and outputs the exact MRR and customer count you need to genuinely survive not the optimistic version.
