I had twenty terminals open and no idea which one contained the important thing. This is generally how important things become former important things.
Tabs hide work. Panes subdivide until every terminal has the dimensions of a postage stamp. So I built RACE: an infinite, zoomable canvas where terminals are windows you place, resize, group, and occasionally find again.
It began as a better way to arrange shells. Then came persistent sessions, crash recovery, mirrors, pinning, and MCP tools so agents could operate the same visible workspace instead of vanishing into mysterious background processes and returning with opinions.
Preparing for launch meant turning my useful contraption into a proper macOS product: fast rendering, reliable restoration, notarization, and a free tier without a ticking clock.
The idea remains simple: your workspace should remember the context, because your brain already has enough tabs open.
