qrgeno

Dynamic QR codes with a smart scan-time rules engine

Print once, update anytime. qrgeno is a dynamic QR code platform built around a scan-time rules engine: one printed code sends each visitor to the right destination based on their browser language, country, device, the time of day, or an A/B split. Change any destination anytime without reprinting, with scan analytics and EU print fulfillment. Codes with scan analytics and physical sticker ordering for Scandinavian & EU businesses.

What inspired us to build qrgeno was a simple real-world moment: Jonas scanned a printed QR code at a café and landed on a dead URL. Someone had already paid to print that code, but the destination no longer worked. That made the problem obvious: printed QR codes are everywhere, but once they are printed, they are usually treated as fixed — even though the digital content behind them changes all the time. The problem we wanted to solve was making printed QR codes flexible, reliable, and measurable. Businesses should not have to reprint stickers, menus, flyers, signs, cards, or labels every time a link changes. They should be able to print once, update the destination later, and understand how people interact with their offline touchpoints. Our approach evolved from a simple idea — dynamic QR codes — into something more powerful: a platform with a real rules engine. We realized that changing a link manually was useful, but not enough. A QR code should be able to react to context, such as: time, date, campaign period, location, language, device type business situation That shift turned qrgeno from a basic QR tool into a smart routing platform for physical-to-digital journeys. During the launch, we also added analytics and print partnerships, so businesses could not only create smarter QR codes, but also print them, track performance, and improve how their offline materials connect to digital experiences.

Who hunted qrgeno?

qrgeno was hunted by Jonas Odencrants. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
