Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Kris— a solo developer who just shipped his first mobile game. This is Pulse. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE IDEA I wanted to build the simplest possible reflex game. No enemies. No power-ups. No story. Just: tap when the shape aligns with the target. Miss once and the expanding ring blows past. Tap too early and it resets. One mechanic. Infinite replayability. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most reflex games get harder by making you faster. Pulse gets harder by changing the shape. Every 8 points, the shape transforms: · Stage 1 → Circle (easy to judge) · Stage 2 → Diamond (suddenly harder) · Stage 13 → 5-pointed star (your instincts break) · Stage 38 → Heart (bezier curves, brutal timing) · Stage 50 → Supernova (96-point star — almost nobody reaches this) 50 total shapes. Each one retrains your eyes slightly. I computed all of them using SVG polygon math at load time — no design assets, just trigonometry. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE 3 DIFFICULTY LEVELS EASY — 1 ring. Forgiving. Good for learning shapes. MODERATE — 3 rings of the same shape. One glows white. You must tap when the expanding ring hits the glowing one. The other two are decoys. HARD — 5 rings + a ghost ring. The ghost ring is a red dashed ring that moves 60% faster than the real one. It hits the target position before the real ring does. Tap when the ghost aligns → TRICKED. Lose a life. This mechanic makes Hard mode genuinely evil. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BUILT WITH · React Native + Expo · SVG polygon math for all 50 shapes · expo-haptics for hit/death feedback · No backend — offline-first, zero server costs · Google AdMob for ads · RevenueCat for Remove Ads IAP Total build time: about 2 weeks of evenings. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT I'D LOVE FROM YOU 1. Try Hard mode and tell me how far you get 2. Any shape ideas I should add for stages 51–60? 3. Honest feedback on the hit window — too tight? Too loose? Download link in the comments. Free on Android. iOS coming soon. Thanks for checking it out 🙏 — Kris
