For years, I saw how MBTI is the dominant personality test and model in pop culture despite being empirically unsupported. The Big 5 is the main personality framework in personality psychology. However unlike the MBTI which has personality types with cool characters, the Big 5 provides 5 percentages which is not very shareable. Unlike MBTI, Big 5 traits aren’t binary but out of 100 meaning an infinite amount of combinations. And even if it was binary, 5 traits would make the amount of combinations 32 which is hard to remember and share. Ultimately human personality is too complex to capture in a reasonable set of personality “types”.
So I built Psychoscope. It presents your big 5 as a TEAM of characters. It uses 3 levels for each trait mapping them to an animal character (like MBTIs characters) that forms a “team” of animals (kinda like a Pokemon team). And that team is shown on a shareable card. The exact trait numbers are still shown in the card so that exact trait levels can still be inferred. And you still get your typical big 5 test results (descriptions for each trait, etc) outside of the card, just like a normal big 5 test.
Theres also an awesome compatibility test you can do with your partners or friends ones who’s formula was derived from several different studies and uses attatchment model as well as triangular love theory. Lastly, you can add friends, see each others personality and send compatibility requests directly.
