Local-first PR review: AI informs, human decides
prx watches your GitHub repos and has the coding agent you already use (claude, codex, pi) or an LLM API review each open PR. You get a brief, findings and a verdict in your menu bar. It runs on your machine, and only you can approve. Open source, MIT.
Hello, I'm Vijay. I built prx because my review queue kept winning. PRs would pile up, and by the time I opened one I had to rebuild the context from scratch.
prx does the first pass with the coding agent I already use. When I sit down to review, each PR has a short brief, the findings marked blocking or nit, and a verdict waiting in the menu bar. I read, decide, and approve or request changes.
Two things mattered to me. It runs on my machine, through my own gh login, with no service in the middle. And the AI can't approve; that is always a person.
It's a first release (v0.1.0) from one developer, for macOS and Linux, and you bring your own agent or API key. The Mac app isn't notarized yet, so there is one extra step on first open; the README covers it.
I would love to hear where it falls short for you.

Who hunted prx?
prx was hunted by Vijay Soni. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
