Protocol
Etiquette & dress codes for elite occasions
Most people learn etiquette the hard way, by getting it wrong. Protocol: The Season is a calm, curated iPhone app covering everything you need to move through formal settings with complete confidence. → Dress codes → Forms of address → Dining etiquette → The social calendar → Private occasions: Built for people attending the kind of events where the details matter. Designed to feel like a private members' guide, not a consumer app. Free to try. Premium unlocks everything.
Hey Product Hunt :)
I built Protocol because I kept running into the same problem,
attending formal events and not being entirely sure of the details.
What exactly counts as black tie optional? How do you address a
bishop? Which fork, and when?
The answers exist, but they're scattered across etiquette books
written in 1987 and contradictory blog posts. I wanted something
calm, precise, and always in my pocket.
So I built it. It took about 4 months of evenings and weekends.
A few things I'm proud of:
The forms of address section covers royalty, the full peerage,
diplomats, clergy, judges and the armed forces
The calendar covers the real recurring occasions of the season
with editorial context, not just dates
You can add private occasions with your own checklists, dress
notes and reminders — kept completely offline
Happy to answer anything. And if etiquette isn't your world but
you know someone attending Ascot this summer — send them this 👇

Who hunted Protocol?
Protocol was hunted by Karthikeyan Sivamani. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
