Précis
The AI resume builder that always fits one page
Précis measures every character in real-time and auto-scales font size & spacing so your resume always fills exactly one A4 page. Markdown editor, ATS scoring, AI rewrites, PDF/DOCX export.
I'm excited to launch Précis — a resume builder with one obsessive goal: your resume always fits exactly one page.
The problem I kept running into:
Every time I updated my resume, I'd spend 20–30 minutes manually tweaking font sizes and line spacing just to make everything fit. Too much content — shrink the font. Added a new job — now it spills onto page 2. It was tedious, error-prone, and honestly embarrassing for something so important.
Every other resume builder either forces you into rigid templates or leaves the "one page" problem entirely up to you.
What Précis does differently:
Précis runs a DOM-free text measurement engine (500× faster than the browser DOM) that recalculates layout on every single keystroke. It uses binary search to find the exact font size and line height that fills your A4 page perfectly — no overflow, no awkward whitespace.
You write in plain Markdown. It just fits.
✅ Real-time auto-fit engine — the core magic ✅ Markdown editor — fast, distraction-free ✅ 6 professional templates (Classic, Minimal, Bold, Executive, Creative, Technical) ✅ ATS compatibility score — checks 9 rules recruiters actually care about ✅ AI bullet rewrites — select any bullet to get stronger alternatives ✅ PDF export — pixel-perfect A4, watermark-free ✅ DOCX export — Word-compatible, ready to submit ✅ Local-first — your resume never leaves your device unless you want it to
Pro adds: ☁️ Cloud sync & up to 10 resumes 🔄 Version history (restore any previous snapshot) 🤖 Unlimited AI tools: one-click full resume optimization, JD matching, file import 🔗 Public share links
Who it's for:
Précis is built for people who just want to get it done — engineers, PMs, designers, analysts, and anyone who'd rather write Markdown than wrestle with a drag-and-drop interface.
Would love your honest feedback. What feature would make this a must-have for you? Drop a comment below — I read every single one. 🙏
Précis base functions are built on always-fit-resume & pretext, both MIT licensed. Thanks to Vlad Artym & Cheng Lou.
