PowerClick
The missing 'New File' right-click menu for Mac.
PowerClick upgrades Finder's right-click menu on macOS with file templates, clipboard history, snippets, and Copy Path tools in a lightweight menubar app.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ata, the maker of PowerClick.
As a Windows switcher, one thing drove me crazy on macOS: no native right-click → new file. You either maintain broken Automator scripts or open a heavy app just to save an empty file five folders deep.
So I built a native fix.
PowerClick adds a "New File" option directly to your right-click menu just like Windows does. Works with any extension, plays nicely with any location on your computer, and ships with a lightweight clipboard history + snippet manager.
Shared it on r/macOS this weekend and the response confirmed I wasn't alone (250k views, 500+ upvotes). I am continuing to develop the app;
Would love your feedback and feature requests — I'll be in the comments all day. 🚀
