PotPoolParty

Mine together. Win together.

PotPool is a DigiByte mining pool that spends each day's block rewards on Megapot lottery tickets on Base, so every miner in the round shares the USDC winnings.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m stoked to launch **PotPoolParty** — a DigiByte mining pool built for the degen syndicates who love the thrill of solo mining but don’t have industrial-grade hardware. **The Problem (and the Inspiration)** Solo mining is a lottery. You either hit a block and win big, or you mine for months and get nothing. That “all-or-nothing” thrill is fun, but for small miners like me with basic rigs, it’s just not sustainable. I wanted to keep that lottery energy alive but turn it into something more communal and strategic. **The Idea: Mine together. Win together.** I built PotPoolParty to be a SHA-256d DigiByte mining pool with a twist. Here’s the flow: - You point your rig at the stratum server and start hashing. Every qualified share gets recorded on a rolling PPLNS window. - The pool tracks a syndicate pot. The buy flow only triggers if **2,500 DGB is matured and ready to be spent**. If it isn’t, it carries to the next day. - A round is **“over”** when the buy flow triggers. - When the Megapot draw hits, every eligible miner can claim their proportional share of the winnings in USDC, verified by a Merkle proof. **How the Build Evolved** The hardest part was making the whole thing feel fair and transparent. I spent a lot of time getting the real-time pool telemetry right — you can watch the hashrate, maturity balance, and rolling window update live. It was crucial to show that every share counts, and no one is getting left behind when the pot hits. It’s still in beta (this is early software!), but the core loop is live. I’m running a small pool right now — perfect for the little guys who want a shot at the jackpot without selling a kidney for ASICs. **Talk to me** I’d love to hear what you think about the model. Is the 2,500 DGB threshold too high or too low? Should I explore other prize pools in the future? Drop your thoughts below — I’ll be hanging out all day.
