What inspired me to build PosterWords?
I started learning Mandarin for real life — not for a test score. But every app I tried gave me disconnected word lists. I could recognize characters on flashcards, yet still go blank when ordering food, making small talk, or texting a friend.
The gap wasn't "more vocabulary." It was vocabulary tied to actual situations I cared about.
So I built PosterWords around one simple loop:
1. Describe a real-life scene (travel, work lunch, dating, etc.)
2. AI generates words, phrases, and example sentences — with pinyin and audio
3. HSK cards + daily tasks + spaced review keep progress structured
Along the way, the product evolved from "another flashcard app" into something I'd actually open daily: a native iPhone experience with widgets, Live Activities, and a lighter card flow that doesn't feel like homework.
