Hi Guys,
Portrait Drop started from a problem I personally had while selling products on Amazon.
Most of the time, I would snap product photos with my phone and then either:
pay someone on Fiverr to edit them to Amazon standards,
or spend time doing it myself in Canva and background remover tools.
The issue was that many of those tools still struggled with clean edges, consistency, grounding, shadows, and preserving the original look of the product. Sometimes the output looked too artificial or didn’t match the actual product anymore.
I also noticed the same complaints everywhere across Reddit and Facebook seller groups. A lot of small sellers were asking how to create cleaner product photos without expensive studio setups or complicated editing software. The common answer was usually “use AI,” but many people still felt the outputs were inconsistent or too complicated to work with.
Coming from a UX background, I started thinking less about “how advanced can this tool be?” and more about:
“How can a small seller actually use this successfully without getting overwhelmed?”
That thought process led to Portrait Drop.
Instead of forcing sellers into expensive studio shoots, desktop editing workflows, or monthly subscriptions when they only list products a few times a month, I wanted to meet them at the tool they already have in their hand every day — their phone.
Portrait Drop helps sellers:

• generate ready-to-post marketing captions
• save or share instantly without extra editing steps
A huge focus during development was making outputs feel more realistic and consistent while still keeping the workflow simple for non-designers.
This has been a long process of testing output quality, polishing exports, reducing artifacts, improving performance, and trying to make mobile product photography easier for small businesses and side hustlers.
