Hey PH! I've been traveling for quite a while, and at some point I realized that mainstream destinations had faded into the background - the interesting places became ones where you don't even think twice about going, where getting in takes effort and getting out sometimes takes more. Less information, harder access, tricky exits, and a passport that isn't strong enough to skip the visa queue. That's when the question popped into my head: how well-connected is our world, really? Can I cross this border? Is there a ferry across this body of water? How do I reach this remote island? These questions are easy when you're talking about the United States, Spain, or Japan. But try planning a trip to see the tribes of South Sudan or sleep in the Valley of the Planets in Libya - it gets complicated fast. Portolan was built to answer those questions. Pick any origin, and the globe lights up by how many hops it takes to get there.
