PortlessBar
Your Portless apps, one click away from the macOS menu bar
A free, open-source macOS companion for Portless. Open registered local apps from your menu bar, toggle the proxy without stopping your dev servers, and launch at login. Native Swift, no account or analytics. Requires macOS 14+ and Portless.
Hi, I’m Akshit, the maker of PortlessBar.
Portless gives local development apps named URLs. PortlessBar keeps those apps and the proxy switch within reach in your Mac’s menu bar. You still run your apps through the CLI; the companion handles opening them and connecting or disconnecting the proxy.
It’s free and open source under Apache 2.0, written in Swift, and has no account or analytics. The download is signed and notarized for Apple Silicon and Intel. You need macOS 14+ and an existing Portless installation.
Install with: brew install --cask akshitkrnagpal/tap/portlessbar
This is an independent project, not affiliated with Vercel. If you use Portless, what would you want in the menu bar?
