I'm Grant, and I built Pony Up because I got tired of bill-splitting apps that nickel-and-dime you. Splitwise now caps how many expenses free users can add, makes you watch an ad to add one, and locks receipt scanning and no-ads behind a $4.99/month subscription. Paying a recurring fee just to split a dinner bill never sat right with me.
So, I made the opposite: pay $0.99 once and own it forever. No subscription, no ads, no account, no catch.
What it does:
Split any way: even, exact, percentages, shares, or itemized
Scan a receipt and split it line by line (tax and tip included)
Settle up in a tap via Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Zelle. Pony Up untangles everyone's IOUs into the fewest payments
Recurring expenses for rent, multi-currency for trips, loans/IOU tracking, and spending insights
Share a group with a link or short code. No accounts needed
And it's private by design: your expenses live in your own iCloud, never on a server.
