Polara: Pole Dance Tracker

Track pole tricks, practice, and progress

Polara is a private iPhone companion for pole dance—the sport and art of named spins, poses, and transitions. After class, dancers can save what they learned before the names disappear: browse a trick library, mark moves as Learning or Landed, log practice, and add studio-specific names or custom tricks. Unlike a camera roll or notes app, Polara turns scattered memories into a clear view of your repertoire and progress.

Hi Product Hunt 👋

Femtech is often framed around fertility or clinical care. But I believe women’s health also includes the everyday practices that help us build strength, mobility, confidence, and a better relationship with our bodies. Pole is a fascinating—and still underserved—part of that space.

While training across studios in different countries, I kept running into the same problem: there is no common language for progress. The same trick can have several names, training histories become scattered across notes and videos, and even a simple question like “What can you do?” can be surprisingly difficult to answer.

Existing resources helped me look up tricks, but none could clearly show me what I had tried, what I was learning, what I had landed, or where my foundations were missing.

So I built Polara—a private iPhone companion for tracking pole progress.

It brings trick discovery, progress tracking, practice journals, training plans, alternate names, custom tricks, and a personal training overview into one place. No account is required, and your core training data stays on your device.

Polara began as a solution to my own messy training history. But it’s also part of a bigger question I care about: what would technology look like if it took women’s movement, strength, and embodied experiences more seriously?

I’d love to hear from dancers, coaches, and builders in femtech or fitness. Thanks for checking it out 💜
