A while ago I went to a poker night at a friend's place, and I was completely lost. Not just with the rules. I didn't know the suits, or whether a queen beats a jack. I spent most of the night asking questions and folding.
So I built the thing I wish I'd had that night. Poker Trainer starts from actual zero: the four suits, which cards are high, what a pair is. From there it works up to hand rankings, how a hand of Texas Hold'em plays out, betting, and later the odds stuff.
When you know the basics you can play against a bot called Chip. After every hand it tells you why you won or lost, and which lessons to go back to.
