PointArt Framework

Spring Boot ergonomics for PHP. Built from scratch.

PointArt is a Spring Boot-inspired PHP micro-framework with attribute-based routing, dependency injection, and ORM. Purposely built lightweight for support on shared hosts, no build step.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Canercan, a software engineering student from Turkey. I've been building PointArt for about a month. It started from frustration. My day job is Java/Spring Boot, and the ergonomics there (reflection-based DI, attribute-driven routing) have spoiled me. Laravel felt too magical, micro-frameworks too bare-bones. I wanted Spring Boot's clean patterns in PHP, without JVM overhead, in order to deploy client websites easily and cheap on shared hosts. So I built it from scratch. Reflection-based DI container, attribute-driven router with caching, multi-driver ORM (MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQLite), runtime SQL generation, CSRF/CORS, white-box unit tests. No dependencies on existing framework code. The surprise: reflection in PHP 8+ is fast when cached properly. Writing my own ORM taught me more about databases than years of using one. I've been documenting the whole build publicly as a devlog series on dev.to, covering design decisions, mistakes, and what I learned from each iteration. PointArt runs in production on two sites. Its own website, dogfooded. And gamehub.pointartframework.com, a real game service with real users. 100+ GitHub clones, I'd love honest feedback, especially if you've built your own framework. Roast it. Repo: https://github.com/cn8001/pointart Live: https://pointartframework.com Devlog: https://dev.to/cn8001/series/3762
