PodRacer: Manage your iPod on Linux.
100% offline, open source, systemd free.
loading musing to your ipod on linux really sucks. Sure you can chuck your music into it but it wrecks your library database. and even if you get itunes running under Wine? It's still Itunes. PodRacer lets you load your music, edit tags, and even auto-converts flac. Check for duplicates, back up your ipod, etc.
This started because I have beef with Spotify, and I began using my phone to play music. However the usb c port is damaged and will not connect to the pc (but controllers/gamepads work?)
So last time I transferred music onto it I had to send it via bluetooth. I went ahead and made a cave painting since that was the vibe.
Anyway I have this 3g Nano with 8gb. It's pink, I love it. It even has stickers!
But gtk-pod never worked for me, and haphazardly chucking the files in messes with the db.
But we have Deepseek V4 Flash 0731 and a dream.
So I started making an ipod management program. A friend of mine inspired the name, He always sends me the Anakin "it's working!" gif, so I named it podracer.
I also added a gazillion themes because I like pretty software. Seriously 21 in the current release.
I can now safely and reliably load all my music onto my iPod, with no hassle.
Life is good.
Release is nicknamed Headlong because of the Queen song.
