Pocket Tour Guide
Your day, told like a story
Tell Pocket Tour Guide where you are and how long you’ve got. It plans the day from real, checked places, tells each stop’s story in a voice you choose, and answers whatever you ask.
I travel a lot — 24 countries so far, usually solo, usually working from wherever. And I kept landing in places with no tours. No audio guide, no walking route, nothing.
So my workaround became a ritual: ask ChatGPT what's worth seeing, check every single suggestion on Google Maps to make sure it actually exists, pin the real ones, walk the route — and then stand in front of monuments sending photos back asking "what am I looking at?" Plus the separate googling every country needs: which SIM to buy, which food app works here, which taxi app locals actually use.
After doing that same manual workflow in city after city, my friend Dimos and I decided to automate it. That's Pocket Tour Guide — two friends, no company behind us.
It plans a full day wherever you are — any city, not a catalogue. The part we care most about: every stop is verified against Google Places before it reaches your route. If a place doesn't exist or the name doesn't match, it doesn't make the tour. No made-up stops — that was the whole point of all my manual checking.
Then a guide you pick (custom character, human-sounding voices) narrates the walk, and you can interrupt anytime — ask a follow-up, send a photo of a plaque. Save the day before you set off and the route, stories and narration work with no signal. Although the tour guide chat cant work offline.
from €4.99 (depends on country and vat) per full day, no subscription — and your first tour is free.
It's live on both stores, there's plenty we still want to improve — so honest feedback means a lot, especially from people who travel.
To prove the "any city" claim: name the most obscure place you've ever visited and we'll run a tour there today. Ask us anything.
