Plumbref

A local evidence checker for coding agents

Plumbref is a local-first MCP server that helps coding agents verify repo answers before they respond. It breaks answers into claims, searches your codebase, checks source snippets and contradictions, then reports what is supported, uncertain, too broad, or contradicted. No repo upload, database, vector store, or API key

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt, I built Plumbref because I kept running into the same problem with coding agents: they would give a confident repo answer, and then I’d still have to ask “are you sure?”, “did you check the other path?”, or “what about downstream consumers?” Plumbref is my attempt to make that verification step more automatic It gives agents a local evidence-checking workflow: break answers into claims, search the repo, read bounded snippets, check for contradictions, and return a source-backed report with safer wording when the evidence is weak It is early, open source, and local-first. I’d love feedback from people using coding agents on real codebases
