Using the 20-80% rule, it communicates with your Alexa-compatible smart plugs to toggle your charger automatically. Better battery longevity, zero manual effort.

Hi Hunters! 👋 I built PlugPilot because I was tired of manually monitoring my MacBook's battery to keep it in the "healthy" 20-80% range. While software-only limiters exist, I wanted a solution that physically cuts the power using the smart plugs I already had around my desk. I realized that a simple menu bar app combined with a background LaunchAgent could solve this perfectly. It’s been a fun challenge to integrate the Alexa API with macOS system states to create an "invisible" automation that just works. My goal was to create something that "disappears" once configured—one less decision to make every day. It's 100% open source and I'm excited to hear your feedback, suggestions, or any questions about the setup! Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
