Playcade

The TV arcade - your phones are the controllers

Playcade turns any TV with a browser into a party game console. Open playcade.party on the big screen, everyone scans the QR with their phone, and in under 15 seconds the whole room is holding a controller. No app, no account, no hardware. 11 games (and more coming) for 2–12 players: kart racing, light-cycle Trails, sumo, drawing, trivia, hidden-role. Rounds run 3–7 minutes, so nobody's stuck waiting for a turn.

Hey PH 👋 Playcade started with a simple annoyance: getting 8 people into a game together means somebody has to own a console, or everyone has to install something. A TV already has a browser (most new smart platforms) and everyone already has a phone. That's a console. The one interesting technical bit: the TV runs the only simulation and the only render -phones just send inputs. That collapses most of the hard multiplayer problems, and it's why a 12-car race feels okay on ordinary party wifi. Everything is built around a 12-player ceiling from the ground up, not 4 players with extras bolted on. Try it with a big group - that's where it's meant to live. You can also play solo games. Would genuinely love feedback on the join flow and on how it runs on older smart TVs.

Who hunted Playcade?

Playcade was hunted by Siddhartha Kumar. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
