I'm Ovidio, founder of PlayaRutas.
If you’ve ever visited or lived in Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya, you know that navigating local public transit (combis and colectivos) can be chaotic. Information is fragmented, routes aren't indexed on major map apps, and getting around often relies on asking locals.
I built PlayaRutas as a lightweight, free Progressive Web App (PWA) to solve this exact problem:
• Interactive route mapping for local combis and transit lines.
• Point A to Point B trip planning designed for mobile browsers.
• Nearby stop detection to help users board quickly.
Our long-term roadmap includes building B2B fleet management and real-time transit telemetry for operators.
