Answering the question "what to cook for tomorrow" was always a painful one. Somehow, at the exact moment, i cant seems to recollect more than 3 dishes. The solution, was to make an exhaustive list to refer to, to make the decision. We took a print out and stuck it to the broad. But as we need to modify the list, things got messy over time. Still the planning part was not sorted. We then bought a white board to write them down after planning and finalising. But after a week, recollecting an older date's plan, was still a challenge.
The solution, an app that can retain past history of weekly plan as well as retain an editable list of favorite dishes. This is what i set out to build. But over time it turned into something far greater.
PlanNEat has a list of 800+ dishes from which you can just search and tap to select. The ingredients are mapped in the backend so that grocery lists are auto generated.
Other key features:
- Rules based AI meal planning: Set rules (rice/roti preference, veg non veg frequency, NO-non-veg days, and any other custom rule) and AI generates the meal plan with these rules in mind. Meal plan includes dishes of your preferred cuisine and not some random western recipes.
- Grocery purchase reminder: If items are not yet ticked off and is required for the next day)
- Grocery prep reminder: Don't forget to soak rajma the day before, again.
