Hey Hunters 👋 I built Planar because I needed a precise, at-scale paper template for a woodworking project and couldn't find a modern tool that worked. Existing options like Rasterbator felt incredibly outdated, while standard design software made physical calibration and multi-page tiling a massive headache (or very pricey). I wanted something clean, fast, and secure, so I built Planar as a completely serverless, open source, local-first utility. Everything from real-world scaling to the background removal runs strictly in your browser. If you're into woodworking, paper-crafting, cosplay, or just need to print a poster, I hope this makes the workflow seamless. Would love to hear your feedback!

Who hunted Planar?

Planar was hunted by Mason Chen. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post.
