Ping Bee
Watch your NAS, Home Assistant and sites, from your phone
Most uptime monitors run in a datacentre. Fine for a public website, useless for the NAS in your cupboard. Ping Bee checks from your phone instead, so anything your phone can reach it can watch: a NAS, Home Assistant, a Pi, a printer, a router page on a LAN address. Nothing exposed to the internet, no port forwarding, no agent to install. Public sites go in the same list. No account, no server, nothing leaves the device. Free for 5 monitors. Pro is one payment, never a subscription.
Hi Product Hunt.
I built Ping Bee because every uptime monitor I tried lived in a datacentre, and the things I actually wanted watched were on my own network: a NAS, Home Assistant, a Pi running Pi-hole. Getting a hosted monitor to see any of that means a tunnel, a reverse proxy, or exposing a box to the internet. That felt like a lot of ceremony just to find out whether a Raspberry Pi is still alive.
So Ping Bee runs the checks on your phone instead. Anything the phone can reach, it can watch, with private addresses and public sites sitting in the same list. No account, no server of mine in the middle, and nothing leaves the device.
The honest trade-off: because the checks run on a phone, Android decides when the app may run in the background, so intervals are best effort while it is closed. And a monitor on a LAN address only checks while the phone is on that network. I would rather say that up front than have someone discover it during an outage.
Free for 5 monitors. Pro is a one-time purchase, never a subscription.
Happy to answer anything, and genuinely curious what you would point it at.
