Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm the maker of PicRater. This started because I kept
watching friends struggle on dating apps with photos that
were objectively working against them — bad lighting,
cluttered backgrounds, forced smiles — and nobody in their
life would tell them.
So I built an AI that will.
Here's what PicRater does:
📸 Upload your dating photos and get scored across 8
categories: lighting, expression, background, body language,
style, authenticity, approachability, and photo quality
🎯 Get specific fixes for each photo — not generic "smile
more" advice, but actual feedback like "the overhead light
is creating shadows under your eyes, try natural window light"
💬 An AI bio generator that writes prompts tailored to each
dating app — Hinge, Tinder, and Bumble all need different
approaches
📊 Compare your photos side by side to see which one to lead
with
⚡ Instant on-device analysis that works even offline
The whole thing runs on Google Gemini for the AI analysis,
built with React + Capacitor for native iOS, and I got it
through Apple's review process after learning a LOT about
their guidelines.
It's free to try — you get a few analyses to see your score
and top categories before deciding if you want more.
