The journey to building this app started from a simple, relatable anxiety: walking away from my desk or leaving my phone on a table, and constantly wondering if someone was snooping through my private data the second my back was turned.
When looking at existing anti-theft and security utilities, I noticed a frustrating trendβalmost all of them rely heavily on external cloud servers to process logs, track events, or store device data. As someone who prioritizes privacy, I didn't want my security app becoming another potential point for data leaks.
So, I built PhoneShield with a 100% local-on-device, non-custodial architecture.
