Who hunted Pet Shark?
Pet Shark was hunted by Andreas. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I wanted an Android wallpaper that felt alive without turning my phone into a pocket heater.
That’s why I built Pet Shark 🦈. It's a real-time 3D shark that swims right behind your app icons as a live wallpaper (or as a standalone aquarium app). It features accurate hunting physics and high-quality shark models, but it is heavily optimized so it will not drain your battery.
Here is what makes it fun:
Double-tap to feed: Drop fish into the water and watch the shark stalk, circle, and strike.
Trigger a frenzy: Keep throwing fish to watch it go wild (every fish has its own skills and AI).
Choose your predator: Pick between a Great White or a Hammerhead, with more species on the way.
A few quick notes on how it's built:
Battery friendly: It pauses completely when your screen is off or when you're using other apps. You can also toggle between 120, 60, or 40 FPS to easily balance smoothness and battery life.
Offline & Private: No ads, no tracking, and it works 100% offline.
How the pricing works: It's free to download and use indefinitely! You get 200 manual fish throws to start, and fresh fish automatically spawn whenever you open your phone so the shark never stops hunting. If you want endless manual feeding, I'm running a launch special for 50% off ($2.50) on the lifetime unlock for the first 72 hours.
🎁 Launch giveaway! To celebrate Pet Shark's launch, I'm giving away 30 free lifetime unlock codes!
They're available on a first-come, first-served basis. Just drop a comment and fill out this quick form to claim yours, and I'll email you your Google Play code:
