Pergament

Top comment

Hi Product Hunt. I built Pergament because I wanted a writing app that treated my work as mine. Many editors either grow into project-management systems or hide documents inside their own library. Pergament opens to the page and saves every chapter as a Markdown or text file in a folder you choose. The interface can disappear with one key. There are optional typewriter sounds, notes, chapters, snapshots, themes, and several export formats, but none of those tools compete with the sentence you are writing. There is no account and no built-in AI. Pergament does not upload or analyze your manuscript. I would especially value feedback on the local-file workflow and whether the balance between simplicity and useful structure feels right.
