Peek
Three answers. One tiny native Windows tool.
Peek identifies short-lived processes and flashing windows, finds processes locking a file, and inspects the Windows UI under your pointer. Native Win32, offline, portable, open source, bilingual, and distributed as a single EXE.
Top comment
I built Peek because three small Windows questions kept interrupting real work: what just flashed on screen, which process is locking this file, and what UI element is under the pointer? Peek puts Ghost, Unlock, and Focus into one tiny native Win32 executable. It runs offline, needs no account or runtime, and sends no telemetry. This is the first public release, and I’d especially value feedback on missed short-lived events, file-lock detection, and UI Automation coverage.

Who hunted Peek?
Peek was hunted by HaBaDEDE. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
