PDFClear
PDFClear is now open source, a private local PDF Toolkit.
Open-source, privacy-first PDF tools with browser-side editing, conversion, OCR, summarization, and semantic search.
Hey Product Hunt!
PDFClear is now open source.
PDFClear is a free, privacy-first collection of PDF tools that runs directly in your browser. Your documents are processed locally and never uploaded to our servers.
You can merge, split, compress, convert, edit, sign, protect, and OCR PDFs, as well as use local AI features for searching and summarizing documents, without creating an account, paying for a subscription, or dealing with usage limits.
I open-sourced PDFClear because I want the product to be transparent, community-driven, and useful to developers who may want to inspect the code, contribute, self-host, or build on top of it.
I'd love your feedback, contributions, bug reports, and ideas for what we should build next. Thanks for supporting the next chapter of PDFClear!

Who hunted PDFClear?
PDFClear was hunted by Ali Ansari. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
