Parchment is a fast, minimal notebook with a full REST API. One POST endpoint — no OAuth, no pagination nightmares. Write notes like a human, automate them like a developer. Built for the agentic web: supports llms.txt, markdown content negotiation, and agent skill discovery so your AI can read and write alongside you. Free forever. No setup tutorials. Open it, create a page, start writing. 30 seconds.

Top comment

Hello Product Hunters! I built Parchment because I was using Notion...and hated it. I didn't like the UI and when I hit the free plan limit I couldn't bring myself to pay for a UI that I hated. Parchment is what I wanted: one POST endpoint, an API key, and clean markdown back. No setup ceremony. The second thing that pushed me to build it: AI agents. I wanted a place where my AI assistant could store context, write research notes, and retrieve them the same way I do. Parchment supports llms.txt, markdown content negotiation, and agent skill discovery out of the box. It's free. Self-hosted Supabase backend. The Pro plan is $4.99/month if you want unlimited everything. Happy to answer any questions about the API, the agent integrations, or why I think Notion is genuinely too complicated for most people's actual needs.
