I'm one of the makers behind PaperTrack.
This started from a pretty simple frustration: I'd send a pitch deck or a proposal and then just... wait. No idea if it was opened, skimmed, or ignored. "I'll take a look and get back to you" could mean anything.
So we built PaperTrack — a document sharing platform that shows you exactly what happens after you hit send. Page-by-page analytics on who's viewing your document, which pages they spend time on, and when they're looking at it live. For anything more sensitive, you can add password protection, expiring links, dynamic watermarking, and NDA-gated access. For due diligence and deal rooms, there's also full data rooms with folder-level permissions and audit logs.
A couple of things we did deliberately:
🔓 The free plan actually includes full analytics — no "upgrade to see who viewed this" wall. Most tools in this space gate that behind a paywall even on paid plans.
💸 Flat-rate pricing, not per-seat — we've all seen what per-seat billing does to a growing team's bill.
🤖 AI document summaries are fully opt-in — nothing gets sent to an AI model unless you explicitly ask for it, with zero-retention processing. Given the kind of documents people share here (NDAs, financials, contracts), we didn't want to compromise on that.
