PaletteGrab
Pick any color from any webpage — HEX, RGB, HSL in one click
PaletteGrab is a Chrome extension that uses the EyeDropper API to pick any color from any webpage — instantly showing HEX, RGB, and HSL with a single click to copy. Build named color palettes and export them as CSS variables, Tailwind config, or Figma JSON. ColorZilla never got updated for MV3. We did. Free plan: 10-color tray + history. Pro: unlimited palettes + export ($3.99 one-time).
Hey Product Hunt! I'm the developer behind PaletteGrab — I built it because my main color picker stopped working.
I'd been using ColorZilla for years. But it's an MV2 extension, and Chrome started showing deprecation warnings. More importantly, ColorZilla doesn't use the EyeDropper API — which means it relies on content scripts injected into every page.
I wanted a color picker that:
1. Uses the native EyeDropper API (works everywhere, including PDFs and chrome:// pages)
2. Doesn't require any external account or cloud sync
3. Exports directly to CSS variables, Tailwind config, and Figma JSON
Free gives you the eyedropper, a 10-color tray, and 20-item history. Pro ($3.99, one-time) adds unlimited named palettes and the CSS/Tailwind/Figma export panel.
What's your current color workflow look like?
