Page Sandbox
Turn any website into sand you can play with
Page Sandbox turns the page you're on into a falling-sand physics toy. Click the icon and the whole page, text, images and all, becomes sand that crumbles, piles up and flows. Bury a news site, dig through a wall of docs, or just watch Wikipedia collapse. It runs entirely in your browser: no account, no tracking, nothing leaves your device, and it only touches the tab you click it on. Press Esc and everything goes back exactly as it was. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/page-sandbox-%E2%80%93-falling-sa/pjibdkihliilnjbhdiafeddmplibaajn
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Pierre, a first-year engineering student in Paris, and Page Sandbox is a small, silly thing I built because I wanted to know what it would feel like to knock over a website.
The idea is simple: click the icon and the page you're looking at turns into sand. Every pixel becomes a grain that falls, piles up and slides around, and you can push it, dig into it and watch it collapse. It works on pretty much any site.
A few things I cared about while building it:
Completely free, no ads. No paid tier, no upsells, nothing to unlock. You install it and it just works.
Whole page, not just the screen. It scrolls through the page once, stitches it together, then puts your scroll position back where it was.
Private by design. No account, no analytics, no servers. It only uses activeTab and scripting, so it can't see other tabs or run in the background, and the page images never leave your device.
Instant undo. Esc or ✕ and the page is back, untouched.
The hardest part was making the simulation feel good on big pages without melting your laptop, and that took a lot of tuning.
It's not going to make you more productive. It's for the five minutes when you need a break, or when a page really deserves to be destroyed. 😄
I'd love to hear which site you turned to sand first, and any ideas for what to add next!

Who hunted Page Sandbox?
Page Sandbox was hunted by Pierre Miyamoto. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
